Timed Quests were introduced in patch 1.05. They required the player to defeat a specific amount of monsters and rewarded an amount of AP, EXP, gil, and Oracle Ascension Coins for the first completion, which varied from quest to quest. These Timed Quests were only available for a limited fourth dimension and required an ongoing internet connection. These Timed Quests ended with patch ane.06.
Patch i.09 introduced a redesigned version of online Timed Quests. The new quests featured several versions: hunt contests, blitz contests and fishing contests that ran for approximately one week and featured leaderboards (hourly, daily and weekly). To rank high in the leaderboards one had to either defeat as many quest enemies as possible in an hr (hunts), finish the quest in the fastest time possible (blitz contests) or grab as many fish as possible in a single hour (fishing contests). This new version had a new rewards system based on Quest Points (QP). In that location were two types of QP: one that remained through all Timed Quests, and another blazon associated with the quest in which they were earned. Finishing a Timed Quest for the first time rewarded fifty QP of each type and ranking in ane of the three leaderboards likewise rewarded a certain corporeality of both types of QP depending on the player's position. Both types of QP had associated prize lists where the role player could greenbacks in their earned QP. The Afrosword was introduced as a possible advantage obtained through Timed Quests.
